Hyundai Azera lands in UAE

Hyundai’s new Azera model is set to be launched in the UAE in the next two weeks, and the latest version of the popular sedan will be packed with new features. The Azera is a mainstay for car buyers throughout the UAE and the new model is likely to prove equally popular.

The 2018 Azera has already been launched with great success in the company’s home market in South Korea, and according to our sources in the industry, it’s set to arrive in the Gulf in the next two weeks when the company stages its official UAE launch.

Hyundai Azera DubaiThe Azera is now in its sixth generation, and the 2018 version represents a significant update of the model. The exterior has been heavily restyled, and although it retains the brand’s trademark cascading grille, the front and rear lights have been updated, the tailpipes are now chrome-tipped, there are newly designed rims and additional bodywork creases give the Azera more of a fluid, flowing look that will help it stand out against its competitors.

As well as the updated styling, the 2018 version also features a host of new gadgets and upgrades, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, memory seats, a wireless charging mat, a seven-inch infotainment system and a panoramic sun roof. There has also been an upgrade in the array of available safety features which will include smart cruise control, all-round view mirror, blind spot detection and lane assist.

Under the bonnet, the version that launches in the Gulf and the Middle East will be powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine, which boasts 240 horsepower and transmits power to the front wheel drive through an automatic, eight-speed gearbox. As with other geographical markets, the 2018 Azera is likely to be available with a range of other engines, including a 2.2 diesel, a 2.4-litre four-cylinder unit and a 3-litre engine that is exclusive to car rental companies.

According to our sources, the 2018 Azera will be launched in the UAE at the beginning of May, and the car is likely to start shipping shortly after. For the latest transport news in UAE, make sure you follow Simply Car Buyers.
