BMW to release new BMW 1with innovative front-wheel-drive system

BMW specialise in manufacturing sturdy vehicles that offer opulent driving experiences. This combination of resilience and sophistication makes BMW cars ideal for UAE drivers who need to drive long distances in comfort. BMW’s vehicles particularly appeal to drivers who don’t have the budget to buy a truly high-end vehicle such as the Mercedes Benz we discussed in our last blog but still want to drive something that reflects their aspirational lifestyle. These drivers should be delighted to learn that the manufacturer is planning to reveal a truly innovative new car later this year.

BMW 1 SeriesThe upcoming BMW 1 Series is likely to be properly unveiled before the end of 2018. Even though the car hasn’t officially debuted yet, we already know a great deal about it. The vehicle’s most exciting feature is its new front-wheel-drive system. It will be the first BMW 1 Series vehicle to feature this type of system.

Front-wheel-drive systems have several key benefits over traditional rear-wheel-drive systems. Most notably, they’re lighter and they take up less space, meaning that cars that utilise these systems have more space for passengers and luggage. They are also less heavy and therefore more energy efficient.

The front-wheel-drive system that BMW has incorporated into its new 1 Series is also designed to work better in hybrids and electric vehicles than old rear wheel drive systems. This suggests that the company plans on offering electric and hybrid variants on its new vehicle, which should help it to appeal to eco-enthusiasts.

Here at Simply Car Buyers, we can’t wait to see what kind of vehicle the new BMW 1 Series will be. We do know that it will be an entry-level car, meaning that most ordinary drivers should be able to afford it. However, it’s always wise to put aside extra money if you plan on buying a new vehicle. If you’re interested in raising enough capital to purchase the latest BMW 1 Series, we can help. We’re happy to buy any car, so why not sell your old vehicle to us today? We can offer you a great price and you can put the money towards your next car.

Electric cars now accommodated at Sahara Centre

According to a new official announcement, Sharjah is joining the big push across the country to make free electric chargers available for zero-emission electric vehicles. The Sahara Centre has thus announced itself as the first mall in Sharjah to provide free charging points for electric vehicles. The move is powered by Tesla, the premier electric car manufacturer out of California, USA.

New innovations and opportunities

In a public statement from the mall’s representatives, the initiative was described as a way to reflect the commitment of the Sahara Centre to improving “customer service and satisfaction”, with a focus on exploring innovative technologies and the opportunities they bring. The charging points also represent a commitment to adopting “sustainable solutions”, whereby customers will be encouraged to care for the environment.

There are three new charging points, from which owners of electric vehicles will be able to top-up their batteries for absolutely no cost. The charging points are located both in the mall and its new extension car parks, and they will be accessible during the Sahara Centre’s opening hours. Charging at these points for one hour will provide as much as 100km of range for an electric vehicle.

The push for clean energy

The UAE is slowly gaining a significant enthusiasm for electric vehicles. This is shown in the recent addition of Tesla vehicles to the Dubai taxi rank in 2017. The bottom line is a nation aiming to become one of the world’s central locations for clean energy usage and a greener economy.

The Sahara Centre has clearly kept itself on top of this positive trend. The installation of these electric vehicle charging points demonstrates the mall’s dedication to innovative and sustainable new technologies. The hope is that this is another positive step towards increasingly widespread adoption of clean mobility options in Sharjah.

The Sahara Centre is the leading destination in Sharjah for retail, leisure and entertainment. Its influence as a trend setter for big businesses and the general public is significant, so this gesture of contributing to the movement for improving the environment in UAE will have an impact on others choosing to do the same.

Dubai Driving

The road to safety – Predicting the future of safe driving in the UAE

The authorities in the United Arab Emirates are always trying to improve the country’s road safety. Statistics that have been published recently seem to show that they’re on the right track. In the 10 years between 2007 and 2017, the number of annual road fatalities has been slashed by 50%. Last year, there were barely five hundred driving-related fatalities across the entire UAE.

Dubai Driving LicenceHowever, even one fatality is too many, so the UAE clearly still has a long way to go before it’s completely safe for motorists. But how will the country continue to improve its road safety in the years ahead? Here at Simply Car Buyers, we believe there are several ways the UAE will make its roads safer in the near future.

  1. Improved education

The UAE authorities’ emphasis on safer roads leads us to believe that road safety education will be used to encourage better driving. We confidently predict road safety will be taught to the highest possible standard in schools and other institutions in the coming years.

  2. Legal enforcement

Dangerous driving and other motoring infractions are already punished with hefty fines in the UAE. We expect to see motoring laws become more stringent over the next few years to discourage bad driving and make the roads safer for conscientious motorists.

  3. Roll-out of driverless cars

Driverless cars are designed to always drive safely and responsibly, meaning that their widespread use could improve road safety tremendously. They are already being used in several cities across the Emirates, including Dubai. We believe they will become much more prevalent over the next five to 10 years and will soon be used by many ordinary motorists. This will ultimately make the UAE’s roads significantly safer for everyone.

  4. Technological advancement

In addition to fully driverless cars, the UAE is already embracing cars with advanced safety systems, such as assisted braking and proximity sensors. We think that these features will be become more popular and will be actively encouraged by the authorities over the next few years.

UAE road safety is improving all the time. If you feel that you want to upgrade to a car with more sophisticated safety features, let us help you. We’re happy to buy any car, including your current vehicle, to help you raise the capital you need for a new one. Get in touch today to find out more.

BMW 8 Series Dubai

BMW partners with Art Dubai, announces Concept 8 series

Further expanding its support of culture and the arts in the Gulf, BMW has announced a long-term collaboration with Art Dubai.

BMW-8-Series Concept DubaiThe partnership between the arts organisation and AGMC – the official importers and representatives of BMW in Dubai – is the latest of many announcements regarding BMW’s commitment to cultural engagement. For the past five decades, the car manufacturer has partnered with hundreds of organisations and initiatives around the world to champion art, architecture and design.

A home for culture

Art Dubai, a fair which showcases home-grown and international art, is about to enter its 12th year. Taking place between the 21st and 24th March, it is the most extensive art fair in the region – something which BMW are keen to support. Johannes Seibert, the Managing Director of BMW in UAE said the company was looking to provide a platform for artists to “share their stories and work” in the area over the next three years.

Good news for car buyers

However, Art Dubai won’t strictly be the preserve of art critics this year, as BMW has also announced plans to host its Concept 8 Series, which will be available for all visitors to the fair to enjoy.

The BMW Concept 8 Series combines agility with a smooth driving experience. As a refined, sleek and thought-provoking vehicle, perhaps an art fair is a fitting location for its unveiling in UAE.

The innovative features of the Concept 8 open a whole new world of driving possibilities. It’s been designed with the racetrack in mind, allowing drivers to have the most important information presented to them directly in their line of sight. This makes concentrating on driving much easier.

The interior takes cues from classic BMW designs and presents a modern version of the round, analogue display instruments of the past. As new cars go, it’s a dream come true – particularly for fans of classic BMW models.

The exterior design has been handled by John Buckingham, who has set out to create a spiritual successor with the new BMW 8 Series, as opposed to a replacement. With razor-sharp dynamics, it’s safe to say he has succeeded with this expressive coupé.

Rolls Royce Dubai

Iconic British brand dealership expects more in 2018

Abu Dhabi Motors, holders of the rights to sell Rolls Royce cars in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, is looking forward to the rest of the year, even though car sales as a whole are down by an average 20% globally.

Executives at Abu Dhabi Motors are eagerly awaiting the release of global sales figures for Rolls Royce dealerships in 2017. They are confident that they will be in the top five, having come second in 2016. In 2017 the value of the average car sold by Abu Dhabi Motors was Dh1.3m with the Wraith being the biggest seller.

Rolls Royce sales are not often affected by the state of the global economy as extreme luxury car buyers are not people whose buying decisions depend on wider economics. But 2018 will add two more elements to push sales even further.

Firstly, the new Phantom was only launched in December so won’t have had a chance to make a big impact on sales. The entry-level short wheelbase model is at least Dh1.95 million so increasing sales throughout the year are expected to contribute significantly to Abu Dhabi Motors sales totals.

The second is that the much-awaited Cullinan, Rolls Royce’s first SUV, will enter the fray – taking on and perhaps surpassing the Bentley Bentayga.

Rolls Royce Cullinan DubaiThe Bentayga sits on its own in the super-luxury SUV category right now but the Cullinan is expected to be a lot more expensive, arguably creating a category of its own. Even the upcoming Lamborghini Urus is expected to be in the same price bracket as Porsche’s Cayenne and the Range Rover, rather than the giddy heights occupied by Bentley and Rolls Royce.

Cay buyers walking into an Abu Dhabi Motors showroom are also likely to want to personalise the luxury cars with the average customer spending around USD25,000. The general manager of the dealership, Arno Husselmann, said that they expect “extensive bespoking on 99 per cent of … cars ordered.”

If you’re thinking of selling a car in the UAE to make room in your garage for a Phantom or Cullinan, why not contact us? We’ll quickly take your current model away at a great price, clearing the decks for your new pride and joy.
