Jaguar I Pace

Jaguar I-Pace electrifies luxury car competition

Hot on the heels of Tesla’s electric cars, which are now on sale in the UAE, comes Jaguar’s surprise entry into the all-electric car market.

Development well under way

Jaguar I Pace 2The most radical car in Jaguar’s proud history of British engineering and design, the I-Pace was revealed at last November’s motor show in LA. But although everyone assumed it was a concept vehicle, built just for show, Jaguar design director Ian Callum stated that it was a “preview of a five-seat production car that will be on the road in 2018.”

Sporting heritage

Jaguar ipace 1With Jaguar’s roots in motorsport since the company’s birth over eighty years ago, the team in England strived to get the centre of gravity as low as possible. This prevents roll and allowed the designers to create a very stiff car, meaning it will respond well to driver input.

Grace, space, pace

Jaguar ipace Interior 1Jaguar’s motto for years was “Grace, Space, Pace” and the twin electric motors certainly deliver the pace, with incredible grace from smooth delivery of high-torque power. The I-Pace will go from nought to sixty mph (96.5km/h) in around 4 seconds and has the power of the Jaguar’s F-Type R with very responsive delivery characteristics.

As there’s no engine or conventional drive train to rob the interior of space, the I-Pace is a true five seater with exceptional legroom, particularly in the back. The looks are similar to the recently launched F-Pace SUV and the I-Pace has full-time four-wheel drive too.

Tough market

Jaguar ipace InteriorThe I-Pace is aimed squarely at the Tesla Model X. But that can already be bought in the UAE, so the Jag will have to be very good to take sales from it in 2018. But Jaguar is not wasting any time – a full-working production model is already being driven by UK motoring journalists and over 350 deposits have already been put down.

Selling a car in UAE easily and quickly

It’s too early to sell your car in preparation for a new I-Pace as it won’t be properly launched for eighteen months or so. But when the time comes, remember you can sell your car in 25 minutes just by contacting us at Simply Car Buyers.

Sell BMW Dubai

BMW Group to introduce 40 new car models

BMW Group is set to add to its already impressive lineup of luxury cars after it announced it’s planning 40 new models before the close of 2018.

Harald Kruger, CEO of BMW, confirmed the news at the company’s yearly press briefing in Germany, stating: “We intend to launch more than 40 new and revised models of our three premium brands on the market during 2017 and 2018. The new product offensive began successfully with the launch of the new BMW 5 Series in February, further raising the bar in the business sedan segment.”

The new car models will feature across BMW, Mini and Rolls Royce ranges, with a particular focus being placed on SUVs and the growing electrification sector.

2018 BMW X2 interiorAmong the models will be a new BMW X2 SUV, which is due to launch at the end of this year. The manufacturer also has plans for a brand new version of its popular X3. Additionally, a flagship X7 will also be released by 2020 to partner the 7 Series luxury saloon.

The expansion into SUV models by BMW Group comes after it was revealed that a third of BMW models sold around the world in 2016 were SUVs. This is perhaps why the group is entering Rolls Royce into the segment with its Cullinan model, along with an all-new version of the Phantom.

Electrification will also receive a boost with Mr Kruger confirming that BMW will undertake a wider roll out of its strategy, with the technology being incorporated into its wider product portfolio.

BMW I NextAmong the new car models will be all-electric versions of the Mini hatch and BMW X3 SUV, while BMW will also bring the iNEXT to market by 2021, which is expected to go toe-to-toe with Tesla in the intense battle for electric car sales. A small teaser of the iNEXT revealed that there will be technology allowing for levels of autonomy never seen before on a production road car.

At the press conference, Mr Kruger also revealed impressive sales figures for the BMW Group, having sold over 2.3 million vehicles last year, which was a healthy 5.3 per cent increase on 2015.

With launch dates uncertain at the moment, it’ll be worth keeping an eye on the BMW Group car showrooms of UAE in the coming 12 months, especially if you’re planning on selling your car in Dubai in the next year or so.

Ferrari In Dubai

The most spectacular cars you can buy in 2017

There is nothing like a hypercar to set pulses racing and fire the imagination, and as manufacturers compete to produce the most beautiful and powerful cars on the planet here is our choice of the most spectacular.

  • Aston Martin Valkyrie

Aston Martin ValkyrieThe Aston Martin Valkyrie is a totemic example of the direction this historic car company is being taken by new president Andy Palmer. The antecedent DB10, made for James Bond, was a beautiful, and seductive supercar, but the Valkyrie is on a whole new level. A product of collaboration with Red Bull Racing’s Adrian Newey, the Valkyrie showcases a newly invented aerodynamic scheme, features a 6.5-litre, naturally aspirated v12 engine, and a perfect 1:1 power-to-weight ratio.

  • La Ferrari Aperta

laferrari apertaAn open top version of Ferrari’s fastest ever production car, the La Ferrari Aperta was unveiled at the 2016 Paris Auto Show. The Aperta boasts the same engine and features as the hard top La Ferrari such as the top mid-rear mounted 6.3-litre Ferrari F140 V12 and the Formula 1 HY-KERS kinetic energy recapture system. Aside from the lack of a roof, the Aperta introduces some critical new design elements to optimise what was already spectacular performance.

  • Bugatti Chiron

Bugatti ChironHandmade in a studio, the Chiron is Bugatti’s successor to the Veyron. Even more powerful and more expensive, the Chiron features an 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W-16 engine, that can produce 1,500 horsepower. Although this hypercar’s speed has been limited to 420kmh on the road, its top speed has apparently not yet been tested. But looking at the dashboard and seeing 500kmh is as spectacular as it gets.

  • Lykan Hyper Sport

Lykan HypersportThe Lykan Hyper Sport is the first hypercar brought to market by a middle eastern manufacturer. Built by W Motors, a company operating out of Lebanon, the Hyper Sport is spectacular in its opulence. When you turn on the headlights of this vehicle, the road in front will be illuminated by titanium LED blades that have been embedded with 420 15-karat diamonds. Performance wise the Lykan is powered by a mid-rear mounted, twin-turbo 3.8-litre engine and can hit a top speed of 386kmh.

MC Laren Super Car

McLaren’s latest supercar to go on sale in May

McLaren’s new super series model the 720s goes on sale this May, with the carmaker promising the vehicle will redefine ‘expectations of supercar excellence’. The 720s debuted at the 2017 Geneva Motorshow and will supercede the McLaren 620s, building and improving upon nearly every element of its predecessor.

It will be the first model of fifteen new generation McLaren’s scheduled for release between now and 2022 as part of a Track 22 development plan by CEO Mike Flewitt, with half of these new vehicles to be hybrids. There are 400 units of the 720s launch edition, all of which have been sold, and McLaren is anticipating sales of 1200 720s supercars for 2017 and 1500 for 2018.

McLaren is increasingly regarded as an insurgent force in the supercar market, and a threat to Ferrari’s long-standing prominence in the sector. Total sales at McLaren surpassed 10,000 units in the last 5 years, and the company has committed to a doubling of its 2016 levels of production.

The 720s entry price will be 950,000 UAED, and the car features a 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8, producing 710 bhp with 41 percent of the engine components being new. An 11 percent increase in power is complemented by reductions in mass to create what McLaren claims to be segment-topping performance – 0-90 kmh in 2.8 sec, 0-200 kmh in 7.8 sec, top speed of 341 kmh and quarter mile coverage in 10.3 seconds.

It will also showcase an innovative double skin door design which McLaren claims to eliminate any need for side air scoops – a design element that has hitherto been considered essential in the lexicon of supercar design. The double skin channels allow cooling air to flow through into the engine bay, leading to a 15 percent enhancement in cooling airflow.

MC Laren 720s EngineMcLaren Special Operations has also unveiled a showpiece bespoke version of the 720s to demonstrate the level of personalisation on offer to its customers – new paint options, bronze finish alloys and a carbon black Alcantara trim. The 720s Velocity will cost 1.5m AED but will feature mainly cosmetic enhancements and no mechanical differences to the entry level model of the 720s.

Best Car For UAE Climate

3 cars perfectly suited to the UAE climate

With temperatures averaging 36°C, the climate in the United Arab Emirates can be inhospitable at times. Despite thriving infrastructure and some of the best irrigation engineering in the world, swathes of the country are naturally characterised by an unrelentingly arid desert climate which is subjected to searing heat in the daytime and severe temperature drops in the evening.

When it comes to long-distance transportation in UAE, it’s important to choose a car that offers reliability, off-road capabilities, plenty of storage space and a great air conditioning system in order to make the hours spent in the vehicle that little bit more enjoyable.

With these criteria in mind, we’ve selected our favorite models for UAE car buyers to traverse the climate in style and comfort:

Subaru Forester

Sell your subaru in Dubai
For decades, Subaru has long had a good reputation for offering powerful performance and exceptional traction in all conditions, and the Forester is no exception. The latest model features a 6-speed manual transmission coupled with an all-wheel drive system. Despite having plenty to offer in terms of sheer brute force, the Subaru Forester is surprisingly light, and with nearly 9 inches of ground clearance, it’s perfect for rocky terrains.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited 2016

Sell Jeep Wrangler in Dubai
This Wrangler is perfect – almost like it’s been specifically designed for a desert adventure. Featuring an extra-long wheelbase, large axles, a removable front sway bar and locking differentials, it’s more than equipped for what the terrain of the UAE can throw at it. With an extra-large interior and four doors, it’s fair to say that Jeep has created a truly family-friendly vehicle here.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class

Sell Mercedes In Dubai
Don’t be fooled by the idea that the G-Class is the preserve of parents in the Hollywood Hills doing the school run; it’s actually a competent sports utility vehicle. Of course, the prowess of the G-Class has long been cemented across the UAE, where car buyers have been impressed by its distance-running capabilities, even in rough terrain. Perhaps the only downfall is that the G-Class tends to use a lot of fuel – so bring a jerry can to avoid getting caught out.

Range Rover Dubai

The Range Rover Velar is here. And it’s going to be a big hit

Six years after the enormously successful Range Rover Evoque hit the market, the British marque has unveiled its next future star: the Velar. Created to rival the Porsche Macan and BMW X6, the new model looks set to sell in big numbers. Priced from just over 200,000AED – although, as ever, a few minutes with the options list will boost that price considerably – the Velar sits in the middle of the range. It resembles the 275,000AED Range Rover Sport more closely than the Evoque, with sleek, futuristic styling and a luxurious interior. It’s only a few centimeters shorter than the Sport too.

Range Rover Velar

Credit : Wikipedia

A wide range of engine specifications will be available. Drivers conscious of their environmental footprint can opt for a four-cylinder diesel, which produces 178bhp but only 142g/km in CO2 emissions. There’s a V6 diesel which delivers 296 bhp and a 0-60 time of 6.1 seconds, while the petrol option is a full-fat, 3.0 supercharged V6 which produces a massive 375bhp. The most powerful engine will take the Velar from 0-60 in just 5.3 seconds and all the way on to 250kmph. It will, however, cost around 380,000AED for this model, well above the entry-level price for the Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover.

It promises to be an extremely versatile machine, sharing both the bling factor and the off-road capability of its bigger brother. Even the most basic model comes with 18-inch alloys, key-less entry and heated seats. It will be at home in the dirt too, able to wade through more than half a meter of water.

Inside, the toys include two HD touchscreens and an all-new infotainment system unique to Land Rover. You can use the screens together or separately, while there’s also the option to purchase a full-color head up display. It’s a clever car; the Velar can be programmed to follow the vehicle in front at low speeds and will apply emergency braking in the event of an imminent accident.

Due on sale in 2018, the Velar is available to pre-order from Land Rover dealerships today.

Mercedes AMG GT concept

A glimpse at the new Mercedes AMG GT concept

As we have already discussed in previous blogs, the 2017 Geneva Motor Show looks set to be one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year. Not only will DS be rolling out their new models, Porsche will be displaying their 2018 Panamera and Mercedes are expected to reveal their latest AMG GT concept.

Mercedes AMG GT conceptThe images and details we do have on the latest AMG offering suggests that it will almost certainly be targeted at buyers of the Porsche Panamera and perhaps the BMW 6 series, but a road version of this GT concept is unlikely to be with us until 2019. The question is will new luxury car buyers be tempted by a vehicle they will not be able to purchase for another two years?

The GT concept is certainly a handsome beast, indeed it would need to be when sized up against the Panamera; the classic coupe shaped four door chassis and shapely rounded rear certainly looks moody enough. As to whether it will stand up against the F1 styled GT hypercar announced not long ago is perhaps a debate that will surface some time soon.

The 4 litre V8 engine and huge diffuser at the rear of the GT concept is suggestive that performance will be a key selling point of the model, while the increased use of aluminium and high strength steel is likely to considerably reduce the overall weight of the car. We can therefore expect improved handling and drive quality as well as economy. There is expected to be a choice between two engine models including the S 4matic+ and the E63 S 4matic+, which was capable of kicking out over 600bhp.

Mercedes AMG GT conceptThe AMG is expected to have the V8 engine run alongside an ISG (integrated starter engine) allowing an increase of 20bhp in short bursts and a seamless ability to stop-start. The ISG contains a 48V system that is likely to be accompanied by a lithium ion battery which, if this is the case, would represent some interesting developments within that field.

AMG seem to be able to do nothing wrong right now, their sales figures show that they are taking a considerable bite out of the sales of similar cars such as Porsche and BMW. Their existing 31 different models are set to increase to 48, but with that rate of expansion comes a risk of taking their eyes off the ball. The AMG GT concept is an exciting looking car at this stage, but whether it will help keep AMG ahead of the game remains to be seen. We should know a lot more after the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

Sell Luxury Car In dubai

The 3 fastest cars money can buy

When looking for a new car, most car buyers weigh up many different considerations such as the initial cost, fuel efficiency, insurance costs and whether or not they can fit a full set of golf clubs in the back comfortably. New cars are becoming faster, more fuel efficient and generally larger, as that is what the general public seem to be looking for.

If however you only have one consideration and that consideration is speed, these are the three cars you will be looking at.

The Hennessey Venom GT

Sell Luxury Car In dubai
Essentially a Lotus chassis with a 1244hp 7 litre turbo-charged V8 engine, the Venom GT reaches speeds that can only be described as maniacal. The Venom GT managed a 434.5kmph top speed last year at the Kennedy Space Centre (where else?) but due to only travelling in one direction fell foul of the Guinness World Record rules. So although it is technically the world’s fastest production car, you won’t find it in your Guinness Book of World Records yet.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Sell Luxury Car In dubai
This is what happens when someone says “let’s build the fastest car in the world”. The Veyron looks like a rubber bullet and is capable of travelling almost twice as fast at 431kmph. This is achieved with a quad-turbo-charged W16 engine that churns out approximately 1000hp. Expect to pay around $1.7m dollars for one of your own, or consider the Grand Sport Vitesse model which is the fastest open topped car capable of hurtling you towards your destination at an eye-watering 408kmph.

SSC Ultimate Aero

Sell Luxury Car In dubai
Shelby SuperCars (SSC) appeared out of nowhere in 2007, boasting that it had created the fastest car in the world, beating then fastest Veyron Super Sport. The twin-turbo-charged V8 6.3 liter engine kicks out 1287hp, achieving a top speed of 421kmph. The maddest thing about the Ultimate Aero was the absence of any sort of technology to help control or tame the immense power of the engine. It is pure, raw power and in the wrong hands simply a super-sonic death.

These cars go far beyond what most of us would consider to be luxury cars, they are supercars produced for people with an appetite for danger and wallets to match. Not everyone who could theoretically choose to buy any car in the world would choose one of these – but some of us would!

Jaguar Interior

DS reveals latest exciting models

Having only separated from Citroen about two years ago, there has been a lot of discussion surrounding what exactly DS planned on doing with their new-found autonomy and how long it would take them. Well, DS have just released details of four new SUVs and a brand-new hybrid supercar which might well send a few shivers down the spines of some big players such as Mercedes, BMW and Audi.

DS 7 Crossback

Sell Any Car To SimplyCarBuyers.com
The DS 7 Crossback is the first of the models and will get its official debut at the upcoming 2017 Geneva Motor Show this month. The few details that have emerged, as well as photographs circulating the internet, suggest that it is a visually stunning SUV with a remarkably well-designed interior which will essentially challenge existing models such as the popular Audi Q5 in the luxury SUV marketplace.

DS 3 Crossback

The DS 3 Crossback, the slightly less aggressive-looking little sister of the DS 7, displays many of the high-end qualities of the DS 7 but will be a less expensive model. It is also going to be featured at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show with both models expected to go on sale early next year.

DS 5

The DS 5 is a handsome if not slightly more conservative-looking hatchback, proudly displaying its original Citroen DS heritage. Part coupe, part sports estate, perhaps even part family saloon, it is slightly difficult to pin down but that is not an inherently bad thing. The vehicle looks to be impeccably designed and thought out, however, and whilst it might not be quite the giant-killer the DS 7 is, it remains unique and certainly packs a good punch for its price.

DS Hybrid Supercar

Sell Car Dubai
The DS hybrid supercar, however, is another kettle of fish altogether. It is perhaps comparable to the BMW i8 and is no doubt part E-Tense, the DS concept car that sent jaws to the ground at the Geneva Motor Show two years ago. It features 600bhp hybrid plug-in technology, autonomous capabilities and is so devastatingly handsome it risks reducing everything else that happens this year to a footnote.

There was concern and doubt as to how serious a contender DS would be once they had decided to go it alone. Their concepts, however, have been beautifully brought together, married with up-to-date technology and with more than enough reasons to tempt car buyers of BMWs, Audis and Mercedes.
